Angela serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Second Mile Education, where she leads a mission-driven team committed to re-engaging students through dropout prevention and recovery programs across multiple states.

Angela has spent more than 20 years growing within the organization, serving in a multitude of roles—from teacher to school administrator to executive leader. Her journey reflects both deep institutional knowledge and an unwavering commitment to Second Mile’s mission. With a background in education and clinical social work, she brings a holistic lens to student success, anchoring the organization’s belief that serving the whole student—academically, emotionally, and socially—is essential to real, lasting impact.

Over two decades, Angela has helped scale Second Mile’s reach and deepen its impact, designing and optimizing the organization’s innovative school model, leading successful charter expansions, and building strong public-private partnerships. Her work has empowered thousands of students to reconnect with education and graduate prepared for meaningful futures.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys traveling with her family, exploring new cultures, and cheering on her daughters in crew regattas. She’s also a proud alumna of Hamilton College and a lifelong advocate for access, opportunity, and second chances.

Mark is the Vice President of School Operations at Second Mile Education, overseeing operations across a network of 27 schools supported by more than 600 dedicated team members.  His mission is to champion operational excellence and spark educational innovation that empowers both students and educators to thrive.

With over two decades of executive leadership across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Mark has shaped some of the largest school systems in the nation. He is driven by a deep belief that while buildings may be made of brick and mortar, it is the students and teachers within them who truly give a school its soul. His leadership is rooted in a relentless commitment to building high-performing teams, fostering inspiring learning environments, and creating pathways for every child to discover their potential.

Mark’s passion for education is matched only by his love of life beyond the boardroom. He’s an avid traveler, pop culture enthusiast, and die-hard Philadelphia sports fan. Whether he’s diving into a great book, cheering on his favorite teams, or spending time with his family and beloved French bulldog, Daulton, Mark brings the same energy, curiosity, and heart that defines his professional journey.

Drew is the Vice President of Marketing & Enrollment at Second Mile Education, where he oversees efforts to maximize the organizations reach, working to attract, engage, nurture, and enroll students in Second Mile Schools.

With a deep belief that education is the most powerful tool for creating opportunity and driving personal achievement, Drew has dedicated his career to expanding access to quality learning. For over a decade, he has helped educators connect with students by leading award-winning teams across brand development, marketing, media buying, student engagement, application support, creative content, and analytics. Passionate about the intersection of technology and mission-driven work, he specializes in leveraging automation to drive meaningful results.

Beyond his professional work, Drew enjoys traveling, storytelling, cycling, running, chess, and poker. He’s also a mentor, an avid coffee drinker, an automobile enthusiast, and a lifelong learner.

David is the Vice President of Educational Platforms at Second Mile Education, where he oversees curriculum, instruction, professional learning, and technology. He leads cross-functional teams that design and deliver high-impact learning experiences to support the success and growth of Second Mile students.

With 28 years of experience in education, David has served in executive roles across charter, cyber, and blended learning environments. He has led large-scale instructional programs, driven student achievement, and developed digital strategies that support diverse learners.

David is driven by a calling to break cycles of poverty and create lasting impact. Through teaching, coaching, and leadership, he seeks to empower others—guided by an unwavering belief in the power of faith and resilience.

Outside of work, David enjoys running, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.

Greg is the Vice President of Community and Customer Relations for Second Mile Education, working directly with our governing boards, school districts, and community partnerships.

Mr. Engeman joined the organization in February of 1998 after successfully serving as a Congressional Chief of Staff in the US House of Representatives and on the Labor and Human Resources Committee and personal staff of US Senator Orrin Hatch.

With a deep appreciation for both public schools and for the families these schools serve, Mr. Engeman has chosen to use his background to help advocate for the students who get left behind, those that need a second chance and those that “fall through the cracks.”  Importantly, his role allows him to help our governing board members maximize their impact on their schools, students, staff, communities, and their school district partners.

Beyond his work life, Greg loves to read, go boating, hiking and doing all things outdoors with his large family – which will soon include grandchildren!

Jeff is the Chief Financial Officer at Second Mile Education, where he provides strategic financial leadership and ensures the long-term fiscal health of Second Mile and its non-profit partner school boards.  A graduate of Cedarville University, Jeff brings a strong foundation in accounting along with extensive experience guiding dynamic, growth-stage companies through periods of transformation and scale.

Throughout his career, Jeff has played a key role in building financial infrastructure, driving operational efficiency, and aligning resources with mission-critical objectives. His ability to navigate complexity and foster sustainable growth has made him a trusted advisor and leader in both nonprofit and for-profit environments.

Outside the office, Jeff values time with his family—including his two adult children—and enjoys hiking and exploring the outdoors with his dogs. His personal and professional lives are grounded in integrity, purpose, and a deep commitment to making a meaningful impact.
