First in His Family, Ready for the Future

After completing most of high school outside the United States, Jason found the flexibility at Econ River to finish strong and prepare for college at UCF.

A consistently high-achieving student who maintained an A average throughout his academic career, Jason enrolled at Econ River High School during his senior year after completing most of his high school education outside of the United States. Seeking greater flexibility as he worked toward graduation, he was drawn to the opportunity to complete his coursework at his own pace.

Throughout his time at Econ River, Jason remained committed to his education and never lost sight of graduation. “My experience here was much better than what I was used to,” he said. “Mainly because it allowed me to complete my coursework more quickly and stay focused on my goals.” On campus, his maturity, leadership, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on his teachers and staff. According to Ms. Haffner, Jason consistently demonstrated professionalism and respect while building positive relationships with both his peers and school staff.” She described him as “dependable, motivated, and always willing to take initiative when needed.”For Jason, earning his diploma represents far more than completing high school. “Graduating means a lot to me,” he said. “It represents a stepping-stone toward the next chapter of my life.”

That next chapter is already taking shape. Jason has been accepted to the University of Central Florida and plans to begin classes in Fall 2026. He is especially proud of reaching this milestone and becoming the first in his family to achieve this accomplishment. As he prepares for college, Jason remains grateful for the support he received along the way. He thanked the staff at Econ River High School for their guidance and encouragement throughout his journey.

When asked what advice he would give to his younger self or future students, Jason’s message was simple: “Never give up and stay committed at all times.”
