How Coronado helped one dedicated middle schooler accelerate through both middle and high school to launch her budding career

Once a middle school student at Coronado, enrolling having only completed 4 of the 12 required courses for middle school, 16-year-old Marjorie has now graduated two years ahead of schedule, a testament to her resilience and determination.

Marjorie’s journey is not just a story of academic achievement; it’s a narrative of steadfast commitment. “Most people try to get there, but they low key give up,” she reflects on her peers’ journey, noting that even on her path, she’s had those moments to: “I didn’t feel like coming some days.”

Starting in middle school and advancing rapidly through her coursework, Marjorie graduated in fewer than 2 years – what would be her 10th grade. “I started in middle school, now done. Graduation… it’s a part of my life that I finally accomplished,” she shares with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Marjorie’s aspirations extend beyond her upcoming graduation. With dreams of entrepreneurship, she eyes a future in real estate, aiming to establish her own business, refurbish homes, and steer her path as a realtor.

Marjorie’s achievements are underpinned by a solid foundation of support, from dedicated educators to her biggest champion—her mother. She openly shares her gratitude: “I’m thankful for my teachers,” she says, recognizing the instrumental influence they’ve had on her progress. But it’s her mother who’s been her cornerstone of encouragement and inspiration. “I am thankful for my mom,” Marjorie notes, “She’s been my guiding force, providing the motivation I needed to reach this point in my journey.”

Reflecting on her success, Marjorie finds herself highlighting the importance of focus, perseverance, and making every moment count. “You’ve got to make your hours worth it. You’re going to be thankful for it later on.

Marjorie certainly made her hours count, as her academic record at Coronado is a narrative in itself: She completed the remaining 8 of her 12 required middle school courses in fewer than 18 months, was promoted to high school, and took her momentum with her to high school where she completed 28 courses without a single failure, amassing 14 credits and a commendable 3.21 GPA to graduate a full two years early.
