Lesther’s Road to Professional Soccer

How Green Springs made balancing elite athletic aspirations and academics possible.

Lesther came to Green Springs High School with a clear goal. After falling behind on credits at his previous school, he was looking for a flexible learning environment that would help him catch up academically while still allowing him to pursue his dream of playing soccer at the highest level.

Green Springs’ afternoon schedule allowed Lesther to wake up before sunrise and dedicate his mornings to intense soccer training. In the afternoons, he was on campus completing coursework, attending tutoring, and preparing for—and passing—his state exams on the path to graduation. Balancing elite athletics and academics is no small task, but Lesther showed up each day with discipline, focus, and purpose.

While the transition required adjustment, Lesther embraced the experience, building new relationships and finding his rhythm both in and out of the classroom. Throughout his journey, Lesther credits the unwavering support of his teachers—including Mr. Wilson, Coach E, Ms. Cheesman, and Dr. Eddy—along with his parents and friends, for helping him stay motivated. As Lester shared, “Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible.”

As his senior year approached, Lesther faced the most difficult decision of his life: accept a full-ride college scholarship or stay home in Miami and continue training with the hope of being drafted by Inter Miami CF, alongside global icons like Lionel Messi. With the encouragement of the Green Springs community behind him, Lester trusted his instincts and chose to invest in himself.

That decision paid off. Today, we proudly celebrate Lesther, class of 2025 graduate and Inter Miami CF soccer player. His journey is living proof that success requires sacrifice, perseverance, and belief.

Congratulations, Lesther — a Forever Lion!
